Funding your Ergo project#

There are multiple ways to secure funding for work in the Ergo ecosystem. Choose the path that best fits your project’s size, scope, and timeline.

At a glance#

A raffle is often the fastest way to:

  • Validate that the community supports your idea
  • Set a clear funding goal and timeline
  • Combine community support with potential grants later

Where to start:

Basic approach:

  1. Define your goal, deliverables, and timeline.
  2. Create a raffle with an appealing prize or supporter perks.
  3. Set contribution parameters and percentage allocations as needed.
  4. Share your campaign and collect community backing.

Apply for grants#

For larger initiatives, apply to community-managed funds:

If your project has unique needs or doesn’t fit neatly into existing programs, you can email a proposal:

Tips for a strong proposal:

  • Problem statement and impact
  • Scope, milestones, and success criteria
  • Budget and timeline
  • Maintenance plan (if applicable)
  • Links to prior work or references

Earn through bounties and reward programs#

Bounties are available for both educational content and development work.

  • Overview and process: Bounties
  • Development Reward Program (significant contributions to Ergo repos):
  • Educational Reward Program (tutorials, guides, and learning materials):
    • Submit high-quality materials; even items not explicitly listed may be eligible.

How to claim a bounty or reward:

  1. Email [email protected] with your claim.
  2. Include where the bounty was posted (or reference Bounties).
  3. Attach evidence (links, PRs, files, write‑ups).
  4. Include your Ergo address for payment.
  5. Optional but recommended: include estimated time spent to help expedite review.

Additional funding rails#

  • Mew Finance: Centralized but powerful, offering flexible options for project support.
  • Bene: Smart‑contract, peer‑to‑peer funding (no backend required). Currently supports ERG exchanged for a custom token (not, e.g., SigUSD).
